Forth bridge convoy 24/2/2013

To celebrate 10 years since the formation of the Bongo Fury owners club, Sunday 24th February 2013 has been designated as National Bongo Day. What we have in mind is a series of events in various locations across the UK & Ireland where Bongonauts can get to meet each other and perhaps have a Sunday lunch.

Has anyone got any requests for and on the day?
Gordon. We will sort out filming. Will have one camera mounted on the rear of our van, facing towards rail bridge. If we set off first (slowly) the rest of the convoy can pass (wave toot etc a they go) Weather permitting Mrs D will man second camera from pedestrian access to film the convoy passing. junior D is a bit of a wizzard with the editing software........ sorted. :D
jobs a good un etc.....

All the best David.

Hi Guys!

We were down at S. Queesnsferry yesterday. Lovely sunny day and it was absolutely choc a block! Can I suggest for us to make our way to the bridge that we go up under the rail bridge up Hawes Brae and turn right towards Dalmeny Station and make our way to the bridge via that route. Trying to get twenty plus bongos through the village with it's road restrictions would be a logistical nightmare!

It seems like parking near the Hawes may be the only issue we could have on the day, which could turn out to be a major issue if we can't get parked. I will be down early on Sunday ( i have some traffic cones) so does anyone has any thoughts/ideas on a way round this, could we make a special case to the council to cone off the coach parking?

Gordon,
It would be ironic if we could close the bridge to traffic, but failed to get the council to to give up a few coach spaces even though it is unlikely any cruise ships will be berthed. However going by what you have achieved so far I'm sure you can talk them round :-k
