Thinking of buying some air lifters for the rear springs. I see that you can get them from Matt Savage or Air-lifters.co.uk. Are they both supplying the same product or is one better than the other? Thanks for any input.

Don't pm, I also want to know. A mate tried Matt for his Granvia but after supplying dimensions didn't get a reply. A glitch maybe?

Hi
I got some from Matt Savage...a few folks have. He does them for standard and lowered Bongos. Easy kit to fit. I was going for the integral compressor, but I have other plans for on-board air, so I went for the standard kit with pump separate, and air-line. Only hassle was the top spacer slipping, but a dob of windscreen sealant helped
Cheers

Hi
Here is a link to Matt Savage...: http://www.mattsavage.com/acatalog/copy ... rings.html You'll see both Bongo kits - one lowered , one standard.
Very good to deal with...recommended!
Cheers

Bought mine from air lifters UK as they were on offer at the time, it's possible the one's from Matt Savage are the same or it it is the same company I don't know, either way, going by the previous posts whichever kit you purchase they will do the trick, my suspension sat very low at the rear, thru having a full conversion, a towbar, and "Bak-Rak" with a full sized spare mounted at the rear of the van.
Fitted the Air Lifters, 20 psi added to each side, no more bottoming out on speed bumps/uneven ground etc. It comes with a tubing kit which allows you to inflate the Assistors individually but a tee-piece is also supplied so that both units can be inflated at the same time if you wish.
I used the individual set up as the kitchen units cooker/fridge etc, are all on the same side on my bongo thus, I thought would need more pressure in the offside unit to raise the suspension to the same height as the nearside, however 20psi on both sides did the trick.

Thanks for that Jim. Where did you position the inflation valve?

I fitted the matt savage ones. Twice.

First time, I didn't keep an eye on them (pressure) and they ended up flat, nipped in the coils and burst.

Second time -

- just nipped out to check pressure!

They have been OK.

I ran the pipes around the axle etc to the (handy) grommet just above the N/S lower training arm. This feeds into the side-step area, where the jack & gubbins lives. the 2 pipes just float about in there, with valves on the ends.

Like Dave I ran mine along the axle and then along the tow-bar, Iv'e always been meaning to drill a couple of holes in the angle of the tow-bar and do a permanent mount as at the moment they are
cable-tied to the angle iron, they have been like that for about 5 months I forgot all about them until you asked the question. Like Dave I have just checked the pressures to make sure they are ok :o

These lifters are possibly the best thing I have ever fitted to mine, they transformed the ride, handling no more bottoming out on the motorway and squirming!

I did join the tubes together as I would never want to pump up just one side and that way I know they are even.

Matt Savage ones for me to.

Love em Jim

We bought ours from Matt Savage as well. His service was brilliant, after I ordered the lowered ones (van looked lowered compared to others) and they were too short, he had the replacements out to me within a day, and just asked me to box up and return the originals. =D>
