So....fitted my TV today...

Hi all,
Recently purchased a 12v LED TV/DVD combo for the Van and fitted today.
Also bought a bracket and aerial, all from Ebay. The bracket is just one of those kitchen fold down types. Works a treat though, although was tricky to find a decent place to put it. As this is a 12v TV, wanted people to be able to view whilst travelling. The aerial is excellent and picked up all the Freeview channels.
Here are some pics:
Fitting the bracket was actually easier than I thought:
Also wired the sound up to the stereo- sounds awesome
What do you think?
Nathan

Looks really good! What sort of aerial have you got?

Thanks.
It's an Avtex STH1000 12v DC suction mounted aerial- £33. Needs power but is defo worth it. Picture quality is brilliant and no interference.

Might be worth posting links to suppliers of bits and explaining how you fastened the bracket on

A bit cheeky of me, but I've got a very similar B-Tech flip down bracket in the Small Ads section if it's of any use:

I thought mine was big until I saw yours.
Looks good, like the idea of freeview, mine has the facility to fit it but I've not done it yet.

It actually isn't THAT big, only 19 inch.
All I did was...
1. Lined up the exact center and marked out using the TV plate/bracket.
2. Opened AFT.
3. Pulled away the roof panel.
4. Drilled 4 holes (had to be very steady) through the roof lining/roof.
5. Used large spacers and bolts (both sides) and bolted all together.
6. Straightened everything out and adjusted bracket.
7. Tidied up power cables for TV and Aerial.
8. Refitted roof panel inside AFT.
I intend to install curtains for the driver cab and the idea is for them to cover the TV when driving, so can't be seen from outside...
