We have a service booked tomorrow for our car and bongo...and now it won't start! (the bongo).
Our own fault as not used it for ages.

We've tried jumping it from the car and it just started...then died again and won't start now. It nearly turns over but not quite.
Any tips/help? pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeasssse!
Thanks

Diesel evaporated in the fuel lines? Change fuel filter and check banjo filter.

Hubby just rushed out and bought a battery charger so that's exactly what we're trying. thanks.

Don't worry diesel doesn't evaporate only petrol does.
You just need to keep cranking it over until it starts if it started once it will start again if you keep trying. Don't worry about flooding it either, once again that is only something that happens to petrols. When the diesel eventually fires up you will just get a big black cloud of smoke.
PS As it hasn't been run for a while make sure you run the aircon for a good long while and get the fluid circulating to soften up the seals again.

Do we know if petrol or diesel? Petrol can go stale after a while but will probably run if a little rough. Diesel, could be glow plugs /relay, but as long as there is enough fuel it should start after a bit of cranking.

Sorry, I've been away for a funeral so not replied.
Yes it is a diesel.
It started eventually after charging the battery overnight.
Meanwhile it's always been terrible on hills, seriously bad, so that's what they are trying to sort it out at the service. It's taking days! I think he's just driving around to look cool

Something about gaskets between turbo and exhaust manifolds blowing out soot, (engine covered in soot as previous owner had an exhaust blow out). And turbo not firing properly. Hopefully he'll get it all sorted.
Soon it'll be warmer and we can go on a weekend away!
