No issues, just returned after 2 weeks with the class changed :-) - Not really nesc as my insurers don't seem to care but I guess it'll help further down the line.

Incidentally, for the MOT (as I have no working rear seatbelts), I removed the belts, and put the seat in the bed position, so there were no seats.. No probs.

I used the template: (I also changed the seating to 4 seats - thought it might not be a bad idea)

Dear Sirs,

I am writing to request that my vehicle registration number M49 xxx is reclassified as a “Motor Caravan”. I have completed the conversion myself and am aware of your requirements for the vehicle to fit into the classification of “Motor Caravan”.

Please find a series of photographs enclosed showing details of the vehicle.

Front of Motor Caravan showing registration plate.
Rear of Motor Caravan again showing registration plate.
Interior detail showing seats and table in upright position. Please note the table bracket is permanently and securely fixed to the vehicle.
Bed in sleeping position. Please note that this is made up from seat cushions used for seating during the day. The key elements of the bed base are permanently and securely fixed to the body of the vehicle. The bed is 6ft 1inch long .
Cooking facilities: The 2 hob cooker is fuelled by gas. The the piping is permanently fixed to the vehicle. The sink is plumbed into auto-pumping water.
Storage cupboards.
Seating in the bedding position from the rear
Water storage area
Gas compartment

Water is stored in a plastic tank which is pumped to the sink automatically.

The conversion of the vehicle to a Motor Caravan was completed on 20th Feb 2012.

I enclose my V5C document with section 7 “Changes to Current Vehicle” completed.

I trust that the enclosed photographs provide you with sufficient evidence to make the amendment to Body Type classification. If you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours faithfully,

Roger Dxxxxxxx

Good luck with that ! :-) I tried to find it for you but just couldn't. It's a looooong thread titled something like "newbie conversion blog" or something like that.
