Hi all,

I have an aftermarket head unit in the bongo which has an aux in, i couldn't find the jack so i decided to take the unit out. Well it turns out that you need buy an extra adapter. Anyway cut a long story short, i reinstalled the head unit and now it has no power! I have checked the fuses and they are all fine. I assume when i have pulled the unit out i have pulled the power cable from where it needs to be. Could anyone tell me where this cable goes? I have had the panel under the steering wheel off as i think it should be around there but have had no joy.

Sorry if this is a silly question but its all kinda new to me.

Make sure the chassis is properly earthed. It is possible that it's not the positive but the earth that is at fault.

Also check the two fuses that power the Radio, and other items;

Thanks folks!

I have checked the two fuses and they are fine :cry:

I guess my problem is i dont know how to follow the wire so don't know if its still on the chassis.

I've given up for now but I'm going to try and sort it on Sunday along with the lights on the bullbar and front fog lights.

Get a bit of cable and connect it to the metal chassis of the stereo and any suitable earthing point such as the large tube that runs behind the dashboard. If it works, then you know you have an earthing problem.

as simon says, the standard iso connector doesnt have a ground connection, its separate, (thick black,red trace, female blade connector) tho with your aerial in place that should ground the unit and make it work?
