Travelling tool kit

So, what would be your 'must have' items for an overseas trip, assuming a rather modest level of mechanical ability?

In addition to the things you legally have to carry abroad such as spare bulbs, hi-vis jackets etc, I carry:

- Spare belts
- Socket set
- Spanners
- Screwdrivers
- Pliers
- Hose clamp (for clamping off bleed pipe prior to fitting the bung in the end)
- Rescue tape (for repairing hoses)
- WD40
- Spare jubilee clamps (various sizes)
- Cable ties
- Spare HT leads, dizzy cap, rotor arm & plugs
- Multimeter
- Disposable gloves
- Disposable overalls (from Poundland
- Spare fuses
- Misc nuts & bolts
- Tourches
- Hand wipes
- Tow rope
- Jump leads
- Tyre compressor
- 1 litre engine oil

Well the mankini is, of course, a given!
I think I've got most of the stuff on Simon's list, though I'm not sure I can afford a full HT leads and distributor cap set

Excellent idea! Though getting the full bleed sequence into French should be an interesting challenge. Shades of 'Ello 'Ello I fear :D

Just take Ady with you, no need for tools, bleeding instructions or anything else. :) :)
He'd take up less space than all Simon's stuff.

I've only got spare set of HT bits & a coil because I've just replaced everything, but the originals are perfectly serviceable. I wouldn't have bothered otherwise - far too expensive . The bleeding instructions translated in the language of your choice is a great idea.
