Front air flow

Hi,
Thanks to all for the info already provided on the forum however I can't work out what the solution to problem is! When turning on the front heated/demister sometimes it works and sometimes not. When working there is no problem with regulation - can switch from demister to front to legs or combinations at whatever temp so assuming that resistors are ok? If I tap the fan casing, fan starts to rotate and functions fine. Do I need to remove the fan and clean it and if so how do I do it?
