How to wire a tap and pump to a 12v plug

Hi Bongonauts,
I have just purchased a Reich microswitch cold water tap, a Whale submersible pump, and a 12v plug. My question is: in layman's/idiot's terms, how do I go about wiring the tap, pump and 12v plug together to get the tap to control the pump? The tap has two wires - one brown, one brown/blue. The pump has a blue and a brown wire, I have bought some 2 core wire to wire up the 12v plug. What gets attached to what?
All diagrams and clear instructions would be greatly appreciated before I give up and throw the tap out the window!
Thanks

Is this part of a conversion that already exists ? Do you have a Leisure Battery (L/B) ? Do you haver a permanent 12 volt source already in the area where you want to install either the pump or the switch ? You say you have a 12v plug - do you mean a cigarette lighter plug ?
The actual wiring is quite simple one wire from the switch to a fused +12 volt supply, the other wire to the pump, then the remaining wire from the pump to chassis, the pump data sheet suggests Brown to +ve from the switch and Blue to -ve chassis..

Thank you for your quick response.
I am converting myself, so nothing pre-existed. There is no leisure battery, but there are 12v sockets already installed from factory on the vehicle. Yes, the 12v plug is a cigarette lighter plug.
I understand the concept of tap to 12v, tap to pump, pump to chassis, but the 12v cigarette lighter plug is confusing me. How do I wire it into the circuit? I don't want to wire straight into the 12v socket so how can I do it via a 12v cigarette lighter plug?

Well not a route I would recommend myself but if you look at the plug, there will be a outer spring clip that makes connection to the outer body of the socket - this is the -ve or chassis connection. Within the plug from the tip you will have a fuse holder and the other end of the fuse holder is where you will make the +ve connection.

Here it is in its simplest form the return leg from the pump can be connected to the chassis [earth] if its any easier, hope this helps Colin

And for wiring it into a 12 cigar plug, Colin's picture above is perfect, just replace the battery with the cigar plug.
