These are a little expensive, but really solid. 2 of them lengthways on butting up to the rear seats make a good solid base, just the right height, and they fold down to only a few inches if wanted, otherwise store stuff as required. A 3" memory foam mattress laid over boxes and seats makes a very comfortable full-width double bed.

Obviously only works if you remove the center row of seats, as we have. There are clip-on lids available, but these don't appear on their site. Postage is £10 per order, so if buying the crates make sure you ask for the lids at the same time (assuming you want them).
