Depends what you call what I guess, the normal lighter on all models is mounted on the dashboard moulding to the left of the steering wheel beside the front cubby box, ignore the red circle

You're correct Geoff, that is where it is mounted, removed it as per instructions, and I am awaiting delivery of a replacement, I have not checked the supply voltage yet, but wanted a new unit anyway as this one looks pretty knackered. I hope I can get away with just plugging the unit in and it works first time

Not quite sure what you mean that you haven't checked the voltage ? There all 12 volts in cars/vans, you might get 24 volts in a lorry I guess but the sockets are identical. If your having problems with the supply from a socket then that's a different matter, the original units have an in-built fuse at the rear but its not a requirement to have in anyway.

What I mean Geoff is, I'm assuming it is the lighter unit that is faulty and not the 12v supply voltage. I want to fit a new unit anyway so i'm hoping it just connects up and works. I am hoping to also take a feed to my new temperature sensor unit (TM-2), which I have yet to fit, and as the lighter unit supply is fed from the ignition, it would be ideal to connect or tap into the same supply cable, as I plan to fit the unit right next to it.
