White smoke on start up

I recently completed a trip round france successfully with no issues.

After about 800 miles and a few tanks of french fuel the Bongo started up in a morning quite lumpy with juddering and white smoke being emitted from the exhaust for 10 seconds. After that it was fine.

Ever since on a cold start it does the same. I thought it was the fuel and so put some diesel injector cleaner in but as yet it still does it.

Also the front heaters work really well until you go on a long journey and then they sometimes fluctuate between hot and cold after a while. Are these problems linked in some way??

If anyone can give me some advice on either problem I would be grateful.

Thanks

One Mechanically useless Bongonaut !!

How's your coolant level? If it is not dropping at all, then my money is on the glow plugs.

I vote for glow plugs as well 8)
Also, I've moved your post to Techie, as I don't think you'll get much joy in the Camping Equipment section

White smoke is, I believe, unburnt fuel.... suggests, as it rights itself so quickly, that a glow plug is
broked..... I hope that's all it is as we have an identical symptom!!
