geting a wee bit panicky about van stalling now, as off to North Wales this weekend.

Took it down to 321 today for Julian to have a look, he kindly dropped what he was doing and did a
couple of tweaks that may hold up revs for a while. It did seem better on short trip home.

He diagnosed the problem as down to the fuel pump seal failing and allowing air to be sucked in.

Booked it for Friday week for job o be done, provided I`m not stuck min a field at Capel Curig that is.

More great service by the Souths premier dealership, ( blimey, that must be worth a discount )

dont know if julian will see this but try this or ask him to check it out for you.

saw one like this recently that had evaded more than one mechanic.

the feed from the vac pump, it goes around the diesel pump in steel, then it rises up behind the glow plug rail in rubber, this rubber section was found to be gradually sucking flat. it worked ok initially to suck the cold start on etc but then sucked flat as the engine got hotter, then when the cold start cycle ended the held vac was holding up the cold start on the pump diaphram, this made the bongo run on full (choke) even when warmed up, this means the engine was running overfuelled at the pump so it started to randomly stall.

simple fix to replace 12 inches of pipe.
hope yours is so easy.
