Bongo Fury

The front driver window is causing me problems.
It goes down OK but will not go up until I've removed the key from the ignition and then put it back in after about a minute when it will go back up all the way without me touching the switch

Sometimes the window goes up all the way when I lock the drivers door.
Very occasionally the window does go back up whilst I am driving via a press of the window switch (all the way up automatically).

The passenger window totally fine

The drivers window lever on the switch does have more movement than the passenger one so could be worn? It does not lie as flat as the passenger lever

Do you have any advise on what may be the cause and how I may fix it?

Before examining the loom and/or buying a new switch I wondered if anyone had had similar issue and got to the bottom of it to give me a head start as time is severley lacking in life at present

Agreed, mine went there, some previous owner had repaired it badly and half the wires were badly kinked or cracked, it was surprising that anything else worked on the door!

I agree with the comments above... It's always wise to start with the door loom.. V common fault.

However... On this one, i'm wondering if an after market window roll up module have been fitted..? These things are disabled when the ignition is on & close the windows when the door is locked & they happen to be left open.. Something like that with a dodgy connection could give this symptom...?

.... But then so could the connection from the rocker to the electronic side of the switch internals too!??

Mine was identical to that, wiring OK so I suspected the window switch itself (there are electronics in it) so ordered one from a dealer. Came in a couple of days but ouch, at a price (didn't check 1st ) £143.00 + vat TRADE. So far window has been fine but it hasn't been used much. I am off to Poole (3hr + towing) for the w/e so we will see. It better have cured it!
