Indeed - one may then avail oneself of the local hostelry's amber beverages, without the fear of meeting a jam sandwich (not that police cars look like jam sandwiches anymore )

Hi I'm back, not sure where I've been but that happensd a lot lately.
The Cliffhouse camp site sounds ideal.
It even has it's own bar open all year called the 12 churches so we wouldn't have to go far for a pint.
We probably wouldn't camp but certainly happy to come up for the day if Sunday lunch is the aim.

I'll see if I can pop over later in the week and do a reccie. It's only about 20 mins drive from home. I'll post up info nxt weekend

Good idea If you can check the Dunwich pub, as well as the campsite bar, it would be useful. If the village pub is OK, we can still easily go to the seaside

Really like the look of this for an overnighter, who else is up for this venue as time is ticking away and i fear the weekend will pass and no event will take place + it 100 miles each way for me so i'd rather do an overnighter at that distance

I will be doing an overnighter, although I doubt if we need to make a rush booking in February

Hi folks, not been over to Dunwich this week as we have had a ton of snow dropped on us and I doubt that the road there would be clear. The major roads are not too bad but everything else is virtually impassable. Good news is that it should be getting better this weekend so I'll take a mosey on over there then

I got to say it was fecking cold though. The site looks OK, it's winter and everything looks a bit meh but it's fine. I popped into the reception and spoke to the very nice ladies in there and they reckon that there are two areas on the site they can place the Bongos. The price is £14.50 Per night and that is for the unit and two people. The pitches are in a forest/heath setting and all seem to have leccy hookups and they are sited reasonably close to the cliffs. Dunwich beach is accessed by some very steep steps and is a lovely wild piece of East Anglian coastline. The bar/restaurant looks nice, if a bit pricey and in a contemporary style. If you rock up on the Saturday you should pre book a meal and also reserve for the Sunday carve up. It looked really busy when I was there at about 1pm. I asked about Bongos coming for the day and they did not seem to bothered, they would only fret if more than a handful arrived unannounced. Dunwich itself is a quiet little village with a decent pub and walks. There is also the tea rooms and visitor centre along the end of Minsmere road, though I have to say I nearly soiled myself when I looked at the parking fees. £12.50 for a van! £12.50 to park Is that the only parking there is in Dunwich?
I suspected that the food in the camp site wouldn't be cheap - most sites tend to overcharge their captive audience

If you are a NT member or arrange to eat at the Tea Room it's free. costing no moneys. As for eating meals from under a £5 And the carvery looked very good.

Right, there's only two weeks to go, so we need to decide on a venue pretty quickly.
I am happy with Dunwich, but have no wish to be the only one there - what are the thoughts of others?
