Eberspacher or Webasto diesel heater every time for me . They are a proven heater and are fitted to HGV's and at one time, even GPO vans! Make sure that you get a remote temp sensor ( placed in the middle of the van ) along with the timer controller (eg - set to come on 20 mins before you arrive back from a long hillwak - toasty!) and a marine exhaust ( slightly quieter). They tap fuel from the vehicle diesel tank and just sip fuel - very efficient and can be fitted in or under the van but totally sealed burn /exhaust from the van interior.
They sound like a jet taking off on initial few minutes but they settle down and are safe for use overnight although I always fit co alarms in my vans. I was told that the new models may now be fitted with a brushless fan so perhaps a little quieter
Pricey though at about £1200 fitted but if you have cash to splash go for it
Origo bio stove - no Bongo!
