I decided to fit an after market remote central locking system, the same as I did on my previous bongo, so ordered my controller and fobs, and set about fitting the extra solenoid actuator that I already had , it was only after I had finished that an item that had been secured to the inside of the door panel with Velcro slipped down, and upon inspection found it to be a Japanese factory fitted key less entry controller, the aerial was taped along the door panel, well when I bought it there weren't any fobs with the van, I wonder if there's any way of obtaining fobs or if there's a self learning fob like the TV UNIVERSAL remotes, for it as it would be a far better system than the piggy back after market system.

From what I've been told, you have to buy the associated fob that goes with the actuator. Then it's a case of having that fob programmed by an auto locksmith. A quote I had from 'darn south' was a £100 and the cost of the Mazda fob at £30 second hand!!!
Hence the reason I'm saving up for a toad alarm system that provides 2 fobs for £250/300!

If you had a unit like this already floating about inside your drivers door, it would be reasonable to assume there is already a solenoid in the drivers door to lock/unlock by remote...?

Cheaper by comparison to a race horse...

That's what I had in me old bongo. However because the 'essentials' are stripped or taken away in Japan prior to shipping we tend to dip out a bit. That's why in me last one I had to put a new system in. Not grumbling as it only cost £18 and worked like a charm for the 2 years we had it.

Yep and power! allowing an aftermarket setup to be installedin the door! unit has 4 wires, power is on blue and black, actuator control on red and green.

Yeah points taken but as I said I had actually fitted the new set up when this existing one slipped down , prior to that it was wrapped in Velcro and you could not see what it was

I will investigate further when I get a chance because it would be better if the original solenoid done the job via the new controller cheers

No harm in trying....

Though there is a 50/50 the actuator may lock instead of open & visa versa...?!! But you can always swap the actuator pulse feed wires over..!

Done what I said I was going to do ,tried it out first and it worked perfectly so the old Naldec keless unit has been taken out along with the extra solenoid I put in, jobs a good un'
