Fuel Pump Pulley Nut/bolt

2.5TD Auto...in the process of removing my fuel pump to replace the seals.
I am about to undo the main fuel pump pulley nut.
Am I right in assuming that this nut undoes in the normal way i.e. anti clockwise?
I ask this as the nut is particularly tight. I have wedged an old screwdriver between the flywheel teeth and the bell housing to lock the engine. Even with a fairly long breaker bar I am not freeing off the nut. I do not want exert any more pressure if the nut in fact undoes clockwise.
