belt buckle help

Hi All,

I just bought a second bench seat for the rear of my bongo, it was a bargain (I
think) at £50. So imagine I have now have two identical bench seats in the van.
I assumed (wrongly) that the seat belts and the buckles on all bongos would be the same.
So basically the belts I have in the rear of the van (97 bongo pop top) won't fit the
buckles / clips on the new seat. I now have a big bed, and or, a 6 seat bongo!!
Does anyone have any clever ideas about what I can do to sort this out.
? Does anyone have any spare clips for this model? I looked under the seat and it looks like
just one bolt holding the belts in place. Is this correct, or is it more complicated than that?
Any help appreciated.

Cheers.

Did you only have one seat in the van when you got it, or have you replaced a 60/40 split seat? If the latter, then you can just transfer them. There are 2 bolts under the seat: one has a single socket and the other has 2. I've come across a Bongo lapbelt which looked indentical to another but would not latch in properly, so there are probably a couple of different types out there. You'll either need to try to get some sockets to match or get the belts and matched sockets as a set. I recently bought a complete set of 4 for £40 from a breaker and they are quite widely available.

Hi,

Mine only had the one bench seat when I got it.
It had obviously had a second seat in at some point.
Until now I didn't need a second seat. Also my bongo
Doesn't have the fittings for the fold down seats, is
This unusual? I think I'll try and find the belts or buckles
From a breaker. Does anyone know one in the north west.
