PLEASE HELP!!
I have a W reg 2.0 L 12 valve Rwd petrol bongo
water pipe burst a while back so i repaired the pipe, topped up the water ran it for a while and there was pressure in the water system so i did the head gasket (skimmed and pressure tested) timed it all up and the water didn't seem to be pumping (cool/warm at bottom hose) so i thought the water pump had gone (causing the gasket to fail in the first place), removed the water pump (timing belt has to come off) and the pump seems to be fine so i'm now a bit stuck! does anyone have any thoughts on why the water isn't circulating? there isn't a bleed pipe on the petrol bongo's it is supposed to self bleed?

any help would be much appreciated.

try taking one of the highest pipes off, or at least crack it, see if it helps to shift an airlock, the front heater is what i had in mind,
sometimes air in the rear heater can also stop flow (lowest point in the system) but as its fed from the bottom air can get trapped here too.

Did you change the stat when you drained the system? Could it be sticky? Our 2L 'self bled' without any problems.

UPDATE
i removed the stat and it all seems to be working fine so it looks like the new stat was faulty, i'll get a new stat and hope for the best. thanks for the reply's .

i guess the stat failed in the first place causing the head gasket failure.
