even though my fan resistor thingy is fine & it works at all 4 speeds, there is still only the mere hint of a breeze from the vents. Surely they can't all be like that?

Nothing wrong with the speed on mine. The digital A/C seems to have extra speed on the lowest setting.....

Try opening a window slightly to speed extraction, I don't know if it psychological but if I open a rear window the air con seems more efficient.

mine is digital and just replaced both resistor and motor, and mine when its on full it blows in my face to the point that i can feel it as thoe the window is down?
the motor is renouned for seizing due to the rain water which then burns out the resistor, so if you feel competant enough, take out the motor and clean inside the back of the motor and grease the pivoting ball joint and see if it makes a difference?
their is a fact sheet telling how to do this.

When I have my fan on full it is like sitting in a wind tunnel.
Suspect you need a new resistor pack or, is the mechanism which directs the air to different vents siezed?

I have the electronic air con setup and my linkage is broken, I have to manually move it about to get the air out of the different vents.

Sue. Is the airflow crap on all the variables. i.e. Up for windscreen, the middle vents and the lower one for your feet, or is it just one of them that is not blowing?
I had a situation in a car that the upper demist one was not strong enough to demist and when I got under the dash, I found that the pipe feeding the vent had come off. I had loads of breeze, just in the wrong place.
Hope this helps, Dave

The reason i ask is that i just had the aircon pumped up and the very nice man who did it (who has worked on other bongo's) commented on the fact that the blower fan on setting 4 wasn't really up to the job (a gentle waft). As a result the aircon is working efficiently but doesn't feel that cold because of the lack of puff!
He felt the same about the other bongo's he'd serviced.
Is this endemic or is my fan in need of oiling or something?

When you have the aircon on and set to the adjustable vents on flat out it should blow you into the back seat.
As I said earlier. Check the pipes havent come adrift.
Does it sound as if its blowing hard but not putting much out or does it sound like its on a low setting?

It sounds like it's whirring fairly fast just none too effective. There is a draft just not what one might expect.....certainly doesn't blowdry your hair.
