Bongo Fury

I am about to replace my Sony cd radio as the cd player has died. Is it worth upgrading to DAB or is it more trouble than it is worth and I would be better off sticking with analogue. Where I live DAB reception is awful and I have two radios that are a waste of time. I do not want to find myself with a car radio that works only on the right side of hills or in town centres.

Any positive or negative experiences? Also which manufacturers as well as Sony are compatible with a Bongo. Had an awful experience with a Lidl radio which drained both batteries and do not want to repeat this.

I would go for DAB as it will still have FM band as well. Used to have a Sony one in my last Bongo & it worked fine, although only gripe was that it would automatically switch to the strongest version of the station & as there is few seconds time difference between DAB & FM, you would either hear same thing twice or miss a bit of the programme.

Don't recall the model number, but it had aux in socket, supported MP3/Window Media files, removeable face plate & came with a remote control, all for just over £100. There are plenty more around these days.

I just got a Phillips DAB/DAB+ fitted. It's excellent. Even comes with a remote which is much more useful than I expected.

If I was doing it again, I would probably go with the option to link my phone to it via bluetooth.
