Are all Bongo steering racks the same?

Mine is leaking. I can get a s/h rack, but does it matter if it's from a 2wd as mine is a 4wd?

On Lushprojects it lists 6 different racks.

P.S. Is it an easy-ish job to replace the seals? as I might refurb my old one in the future if so.

ive fitted a few and am not aware of any external differences, but maybe i was just lucky.
as far as i know there is only one seal recon kit available??.
as to how easy a recon job is have a look in the manual--------its the largest single subject in there 30 odd pages if i remember right, plus lots of specialist/home made tools needed.

Re S/H rack if you get one from our local friendly (Friendee?!?) breaker, I'll be passing through Sutherland next weekend

ive got an old rack of mine, and a seal kit in stock, and im still not doing it. .

With a bit of luck in the timing (he was due to pass through Brora) Muz went out of his way to pick up a Steering rack from the above seller and drop it off at my door, at some time of this morning that I didn't know even existed!!

Hi I bought a s/h steering rack cos mine was leaking, now the s/h one is leaking twice as bad, wish I had just bought a new one to save changing it again.

might be worthwhile getting the pressure checked before you replace it (or seals) again.

Hi,

I would check the pressure with 2 pressure gauges,but if you dont have the equipment,your local garage should be able to carry out the tests.It is advisable to get a professional to carry out the procedure owing to the very high pressure that the pump produces.

Hi I have access to lots of equipment, so what kind of pressure gauges, where do they connect and can you adjust the pressure if it is too high?

Hi your gauges will need to have a capability of handling a min of 1500 PSI,with suitable high pressure tubes and valves,if you have these you can connect to the both ends of the rack/pump.Take the fluid temperature to 50/60%,be very careful.

PS do you have the equipment required.
