Manual says oil every 5,000km, filter every 10,000. I think I'm the only one who does that
Most importantly, timing belt every 100,000km.

Perhaps the reason there are so many 15+ year old Bongos still going strong is because their owners follow Mazda's recommended service schedule. For the sake of £20 worth of oil every six months or so, do you want to really want to risk additional wear on the the engine?

Hi,
Castrol and Comma both recommend 10,000km/12 months oil change period for the WLTD engine.
Cheers.

Hi
Over a period of around 8 years, I've tried all manner of service intervals, oils, and filters...Currently I stick with Elf semi-synthetic 10 - 40, and Bosch filter, and change at 6000 Km...oil AND filter. Changing the filter every service helps keep the engine clean, and as Simon says, it keeps the engine well looked after and helps life-span
Cheers
Helen

I have had mine 9 years now and have always had a service every six months, I also do the regular checks every sunday, i.e, oil, lights, tyres, etc, still didnt stop the bongo from dropping a blooming valve, tho, no warning, just a big bang, lol.
