2.5l Diesel power loss/hesitating over 2500 rpm when acceler

Hiya - got a 2.5l diesel and have noticed that when accelerating often when I go over 2500rpm there is a jerky hesitation like the power is dropping off then coming on again - especially when going up hills

Any thoughts as to what may be going on - fuel starvation, turbo issue, something else ? so I can go to the mechanic with something specific to look for and keep the cost down

thanks

Check the filters: air, fuel & bango filter on the injector pump. Also try slackening the fuel filler cap in case you have a blocked breather.

Another possible cause is the rubber U bend hose from the air duct onto the turbo, if it comes loose you may have those symptoms.
