Hi ya,we got a code saying its the egr possition Senser,on ours the vac pipe on the egr has Been removed and the other end got a screw in the rubber pipe

We don't have the actuall metal pipe blanked off with a plate like some do.

Would the code still come if if we removed the wire plug ontop of the valve.

Or is it just best to get the thing working again.....

Don't think it's been done correctly,as I know you guys blank off the egr pipe

Cheers

I think you need to blank it off otherwise if the valve sticks open then you will be blowing exhaust gas out.
I would check to see if that's what happened first and then put the vac pipe back on and see what happens.

I have just taken the vacuum pipe off and blocked it so the valve wont work. read the instructions on here somewhere think Kirsty posted it.

i asked this question a while ago and didnt get an answer really. i wanted to know if the egr was closed by vac switched on or vac switched off.
i think kirsty removed it all and the pipework, and left the plugs hanging, without any problems.
i removed my metal pipework but left the valve and wiring and vac pipes so it can still get the ecu message, and still work, but not actually control anything. this to me is the same as blanking off.

My guess is it defaults to closed but it's only a guess, might reconnect it see what it does to mpg and performance watch this space

i know what it will do, and you wont like it much #-o  .
i think but dont know that the reason alan at plymouth just blanks and not removes the egr is because it has a position sensor on it, so its a 2 way communication with the ecu. if the temp is A then the position must be at X if its not what happens ????.

makes weird sense to me anyway. #-o
