Broken aircon, where to get fixed in the South West

Hi,
Used my Bongo the weekend to go to my family in Birmingham and whilst there it stopped working. Absolute nightmare as I have an 11month old son who had to sit through an exhausting 4 1/2hr journey home without aircon.
I have checked the belt and it seems to be OK. I have recently tightened the belt but it has worked for a couple of months since then. I think it has lost its gas?
Should I check anything else?
Does anyone know anywhere in the south west (im near launceston and Bude) who could have a look and recharge the gas if needed please?
32 degrees tomorrow

looks like i will be in the other car
Thanks all.

Yellow pages!
Tell them it needs an evacuation, regas and test and it needs 800grms in it as they probably won't have the Bongo listed!!

I just called a plce down the road from where I live (via yell, chrs) and he quoted me ?55 plus VAT. He said they put a dye in as well to check for leaks. I also just read somewhere on the clinic pages and its states 700grams? which one is right?
Thanks.

700 stuggled in my Freda due to the two systems. I went back and they put in 800 and it works a treat! They use the dye to check for leaks which is normal. I always ask if there is a discount for cash and the VAT usually goes away!!

Hi Ramsey
This may be a bit far away for you but I just had mine done by a chap called Chris Marsden of Air Autos who is a mobile air con specialist. He is based is Halcombe, Devon and his phone no is 07834 620780. Not sure what he charges as I had mine done under warranty but he did a good job and was most impressed when I told him it needed 800 "thingies" because it wasn't in his book. If he will come as far down as you then I would recommend him.
I will be coming to Widemouth soon. How early will I have to be to get a place next to the beach in the car park ?
Good luck
Steve

@Photobug.
I got my aircon done at a place on Newport industrial estate called Blue Edge garage. I had 800grams of top up and it cost me ?55 ex Vat. It was done in an hour and is still working fine now (thank god!). My only complaint is a couple of grubby hand marks in the cab from the guy who drove it on and off the ramps.
Im a

cool dude now

Excellent service and a nice friendly chap. ?50.00 incl v.a.t.!

Nice and cheap up north mate, might cost me a bit of fuel getting there from Cornwall though

Plus by time I got there I would have lost 2st due to having no aircon
