Hi Bongonauts,
Just wondering if it is a sensible precaution to wrap some of that Magic Repair tape round a hose? Not having a problem just looking ahead !

Personally I would rather be able to see the hose and inspect it regularly.

I'Ve already done it where the bleed hose potentially rubs on the alternator.

use an initial layer of self amalgamating tape to give a good seal, then some fabric tape to stop it stretching too much, then another layer of self amalg.

Cant do much harm at other weak spots, I would have thought, provided that it isn't already damaged.

If your hoses are are starting to swell or perish then get them changed. Otherwise leave them visible as Velocette says.
