Coolant Alarm won't stop alarming.

When I turn the ignition on the alarm won't go off. I've checked the screw for corrosion and it's still as new. I've cleaned the contact between the screw and wire terminal but there was hardly any contamination there either. Anymore ideas anyone?
Cheers Spud.

Hi Spud,
Does it need a drink
It sound like a bad connection at the the bullet connector,or the wire has parted company.
Cheers.

Water level is fine. I can disconnect and connect at will as it's on a lighter plug. Sometimes it goes off straight away, sometimes it takes 5-10 secs, sometimes not at all. How sensative is it to the voltage supplied to it?

That will almost certainly be the problem....As it says in the alarm instructions....connect the positive wire to a IGNITION SWITCHED LIVE..

Hi Spud,
Has this issue only arisen since fitting the Willington LB kit?

OK just to let peeps know the situation, I have a multi socket ciggy lighter soldered to the back of the drivers ciggy lighter. This gives me 4 things I can run off the 12v (+ a usb) without having to chop into any wires. The things I have running off them are my camera detector, over temp engine thingy, the low level alarm and the drivers one is spare for the sat nav.
The willington now makes them live all the time as they run off the LB. I don't want them live all the time so I put a switch between the back of the ciggy lighter and the multi socket. This just leaves the front one live while the other things only run when I flick the switch.
All worked well for a while but recently when I flick the switch the alarm started playing up by not always going off. I can switch it on and off at will and like I said originally sometimes it works others not. I assumed it was a dirty connection but all that seems OK. Because it didn't do it straight away I don't know whether it being wired to run like this has caused it or it's just coincidence.
I'm wondering how sensitive it is to the voltage as the LB may not be quite as high as the SB but also there will be a little more resistance running through the switch. I assume the alarm activates due to resistance somehow so this could be a possibility. However it worked for a while which is why the confusion.
Cheers Spud.

Try removing the other units except the low coolant alarm & see what happens...?
Is one of the actual sockets on the sockets on the "multi" designated for an actual cigarette lighter perchance?? Sometimes the plug doesn't actually seat right in these after market units...?

As I have stongly suggested before...put the coolant alarm on to it's own ignition switched feed.....if not you will be going round in circles forever

I know what you mean and I tried that. Didn't make a difference.
Where can I solder onto a main feed. I hate scotch locks with a passion.
Cheers Spud.

My coolant alarm was fitted by the garage and its powered by a 12v in the cigarette lighter. This is ok but when i need to power the sat nav or phone its not so good. It was a bongo garage that fitted it is this the norm?
