Top up coolant on V6

Hi

The level on my V6 is about 1/4 inch above the low mark. Do I just add some water or is it best left alone?
I read about the need to bleed the system and wonder if I need to do this if I am just topping it up a bit. Some advice would be appreciated.

top up when cold will be fine. with water if you dont know what the coolant is.

Top it up to the FULL line when cold.......then keep a eye on it....if you see it drop more than 0.25 inches in a month you probably have a small leak...this needs sorting....or better still... fit a Low Coolant Alarm to warn you if it gets worse.

Would there be issues with mixing coolant that hasn't been changed prior to import, changed on entering the UK or is it more specific than that?

Can't you tell I'm autistic :)

yes.
that is the point really, some if not all, not sure, of the jap coolants when mixed with ours can form a type of jelly/sludge.
