Hi all

Over the past week I have been having a problem with the leisure battery/willington split charger. With engine running leisure battery is 14.4v. With engine off LB is 12.5 but slowly drops to around 10.5v. So disconnected all accessory wires from LB and fuses from willington kit fusebox so the LB was running nothing but charging up but battery did the same, drops to 10.5 .new battery i thought but when battery was charged back up to 12.50v after a outting i disconnected the willington charger leads so stand on its own and it keeps 12.5v all night and all next till i put charger leads back on and it will drop .anybody any ideas. thanks

Well with the engine off, the willington kit charging lead (the positive lead from your SB) should be electronically disconnected anyhow, so pulling the main fuse should make no difference. If the relay is stuck closed (only way that the charging lead remains connected with ignition off) then what you describe would result from the SB being duff and drawing charge from the LB (OR.. there being a heavy load on the SB which is dragging down the LB too due to the "perhaps" stuck closed relay).

You need to meter your SB too....

I believe there was a problem with some Willinton VS relays that caused a significant load to appear on the L/B from the voltage sensing electronics, it might be worth contacting him, someone on the forum was affected and made mention of it as I recall.
