fiamma bike rack + spoiler: cut or remove?

Evening all.
I've just acquired a fiamma carry bike for our Bella. Put it on yesterday (having removed spoiler obviously) and reckon it'll need a fair chunk cut out the spoiler to fit.
On the other hand, there's the holes in the tailgate. If I leave the spoiler off I'd need to fill/seal them somehow.
So: any recommendations?
- Has anyone cut the spoiler successfully?
- alternatively, how to seal the tailgate holes?
Of course, if anyone has a template for cutting the spoiler that would be just dandy
Thanks,
Scott.

Doh! Don't know how I missed that one when I searched. Thanks for the link and apologies for duplication.

Watch out on this, as I believe fitting the rack this way will mean the bike rack becomes more or less a permanent fixing ,fine if that's what you want but you may then need to fit uprated lid struts (£50 something each)

I plan to fit a bike rack in the near future and have a spoiler fitted. How useful is the spoiler, I know it keeps the rear window clean, but could I do without it? How easy is it to remove?

Easy to remove, four screws (Torx) are evident when you open the tailgate.
In my experience the spoiler doesn't keep the rear window clean.
But - go for the Thule 973 - no need to cut the spoiler then

That Thule rack looks good, what fitting kit did you use? No Bongo option on Thule site

I used the 973-02 kit but I don't think that's available any more, most use the 973-18 kit now.

Thanks, had thought about that. The rack is 2 parts joined by 6 bolts. Plan is to leave the bit that attaches to tailgate on permanently and just attach the other part when needed. That should minimise extra load on 'gate and struts I think. Will upgrade struts if / when needed.
