Wrong profile tyre OK as spare?

In an attempt to rid myself of the space-saver spare under our 2WD bongo, I've aquired a steel wheel from a Mazda 626.

I'm fairly convinced the wheel will fit, but the tyre is the wrong profile (195/60 R15).

This works out some 6% smaller than my other tyres (Standard 195/70R15 front and 215/65R15 Rear), according to http://www.etyres.co.uk/tyre-size-calculator.htm

Would this be OK as a spare? Or should I spend some cash on a new tyre?
The others aren't due for replacement any time soon....

Thanks

Darron

It will be a whole lot better than the spacesaver

just only use it to get you to a tyre place

I wouldn't bother worrying about the tyre as I don't think the wheel will fit as according to http://www.alloyguide.com/Mazda.php the 15" 626 wheel has the wrong stud spacing.

..........Year ......... Size ......... PCD .......... Offset ........ Centre bore
626 ..... 83 - 87 ...... 14x5.5 ..... 4x114.3 ..... 35 to 45 ..... 59.6
626 ..... 88 - on ...... 15x6 ....... 5x139.7 ..... 35 to 45 ..... 67.1

Thanks everyone!

The load rating on the 626 tyre is only 88, so not a good start.

Better check the PCD etc too...... I'll report back!

Hmm, just measured the Mazda 626 wheel. PCD and bore both seem correct for the Bongo (admittedly measured with a crappy plastic vernier).

Other sources seem to confirm this too (for a 1992 > Mazda 626):
http://www.alloywheelsinternational.com/MAZDA.html
and
http://www.wheelfitment.net/mazda

..........Year......PCD.......Offset......Centre bore
626.....92>....5x114.3.....35 - 45.....67.1

I'll try it on the Bongo later.....

someone else did this recently, i think they sprayed the wheels up only to find a no fit. best to try them on.
my only worry would be is a 626 wheel strong enough to take a fully loaded bongo's weight.
