Heating actuator (V6)

Before posting, i did do a search to find any relevant answers. Without avail, so...
My Bongo was bought with the heating actuator missing. The little electrically operated black box that sits high in the drivers footwell, and pushes/pulls the controls to work the heating flaps.
Well, after i bought and fitted a second hand one from ebay it now "sort of" works except there does not seem to be enough movement in the actuator to fully move the vents into their correct position.
Before i start to "fix" this by opening it up with a blunt screwdriver, is there someting i am missing. Or maybe the actuator is faulty.
i can unattach the actuator and the vent panel moves freely by hand.
The van is a 98 model 2.5l V6 petrol, with front and rear air-con. Not sure if that makes any difference.
many thanks
Tricky

Maybe the actuator is the wrong model or the rod is the wrong length.

I had to make a new rod for mine as it was missing. can you put up a photo to see if is the same?

the wrong model may be a possibility. The one i bought had a line of connectors blanked off with a little yellow plastic plug, which i had to remove to get my three pins connector plug to fit. i didn't think it would make a difference at the time.
i work in France during the week so i will try to post a pic at the weekend.

I'm going to be grovelling under my steering wheel tonight trying to sort out my coolant alarm so I will try and get pics of mine for reference at each end of its travel.

Could this newly acquired servo (black box) be designed to move in increments for the heat adjustment flap in the passenger foot well, & not the air direction flap set up....?

Swap it with the one in the passenger side & see if it does the same job..?

There's one on the other side? #-o
Velocette. Thanks for taking the time to post those. It at least shows me that everything is in the place it should be.

Yep, it runs the mixer flap for the air temp... http://lushprojects.com/bongopartsmk2/c ... mgno=.html

In fairness, i have the manual version, but the lay out is the same as the principle... looking at Velocette's pictures you can see the routing connections for the manual cable set up.. My manual system has the empty arias for the servos, but no loom!

There will be a third servo for the recirculation flap too on the other side of the bulkhead... Part 61-B60 http://lushprojects.com/bongopartsmk2/c ... mgno=.html

My last post was only a guess, but you never know..?! :D

I got the impression that the mode damper goes right across the blower but I wasn't really looking at it. I wondered what the other lugs where for, obvious now. I think my electrical connector is displaced looking at the pics and I also need to get the vacuum cleaner down there!

Update. I have had to butcher another paint kettle and make a new rod about 1/2" longer than in the pics. There is another cam position I hadn't tried. When you press the windscreen button the actuator moves even futher anticlockwise to about 2 O'Clock and this neccesitates the longer rod. I think I have got it right now.
