Bongo Fury

Hi all -1st post so be gentle with me!!
Just got my Bongo from a garage who had it as a trade in and they didn't really understand its value. Checked out mechanically sound and in all a very good purchase.

It is unconverted and I would like to keep it that way with the addition of a removable rear kitchen but would like advice on whether I have a leisure battery. There are two batteries under the bonnet but I can't see an obvious split relay although both batteries have fuse boxes attached.

I admit that I am mechanically competent but these electric things are a mystery. Advice would be most helpful and anyone know a good auto electrician in SW London or NE Surrey who could help me?

The "winter fit" setup has 2 batteries which have the + terminals connected by a single heady duty cable, with no gizmos / boxes / relays, so if you have a single unterrupted cable then it's likely that you have a dual-battery fit, not a leisure battery fit.

Also on the "winter fit" is a fast-warm up flap system in the exhaust. You will have a switch with an engine symbol on it by the driver's right knee, and an assortment of "gubbins" under the passenger's seat plumbed into the exhaust.

Thanks - I do have the switch by my knee but have never touched it as I didn't know what it did so I think I do have the winter fit.

Anyone know a good place to sort out the wiring for a split relay? Is this a specialist job or could any garage help me if I got the bits?

He does versions with and without the second battery tray, so you can retain your existing tray and battery.

Your battery isn't strictly a leisure battery, but the worst that can happen is that it fails eventually - at which point you replace it with a 'real' leisure one.
