V6 Fluid Container under Driver's Seat
Excuse my ignorance but what is the plastic fluid container for that is under the driver's seat? It has- minimum level line. The coolant and brake fluid containers are located under the bonnet.
Thanks for any advice

On the TD, that's the power steering fluid. I expect the V6 has the same reservoir in the same place.

Never seen one before or even heard of it! I guess that's the magic of the Bongo!

definitely the power steering reservoir.
Re: V6 Fluid Container under Driver's Seat
Probably a very stupid question but what do you fill it up with?

Power steering fluid
. If the level is low, then you may have a leak in the steering rack which is not an uncommon problem. Top it up and keep an eye on it for a few weeks.

You use the same fluid that you use in your auto gear box Dexon 3

The manual says: ATF (D-II or M-III), so Dextron 3 sounds about right. Capacity: 1.3 litre.

Hi,
One thing I'd say is don't fill it right up to the top, it expands when it gets warm. I don't have my bongo anymore but on many cars the levels are marked hot and cold. If you don't have that I'd guess you need to check the level when the engine is warm.

Re: V6 Fluid Container under Driver's Seat
Mine is the TD 2 wheel drive Freda -but I guess this is an identical set-up. Steering fluid has been leaking out of the top of the bottle/reservoir, & I have a very strong hunch that it would be unimaginably foolish to block the groove it's leaking out of
. Is there something really easy I can do to sort it or does the system need an expensive overhaul?

Hi Distilled Waters Run Deep,
Presuming that you are not overfilling the reservoir (i would not think so after all these years)
I would get the Pressure Relief/Bypass valve checked,it could be sticking, also the F&R hoses.
Cheers.
