Just recieved new mirror to replace the smashed one in my reversing mirror. Anyone carried out a replacement? if so any hints/tips as don't want to damage anything trying to carry out the repair.
Cheers

I have not changed the glass myself but i understand you need to warm the plastic case up to expand it and then the glass just slips in.

You carefully break out the old mirror pieces. Then heat up the plastic surround until it expands, you'll find the new glass will drop into place. Don't turn it upside down while it's warm - leave it to cool and it will be a snug fit. Allan's fixed about 10 of these, he heats them up in front of a diesel heater.

The complete head is missing from mine.
Just the stalk sticking out.
Where can i get one & will it fit to the old stalk, or do i have to buy the complete lot?

Probably easier to get a complete unit. They come up for sale on ebay quite frequently ranging from about £20 - £40. Alternatively, try one of the companies who specialise in breaking Bongos. I tend to use Kevin at Southern Bongos
http://www.southernbongos.co.uk/. I'll be popping over there tomorrow so can enquire what price he charges.
