Whilst i was having a nose under the drivers seat for the injection pump to add in a cut off switch, will mount a switch somewhere sneaky. I noticed a couple of tubes that were floating around, any ideas? [-o<

Tube next to ATF dip, well i hope thats the ATF dip, Its full i know that much

and these two, looks like its an inline filter that used to have something connected to bottom and the other one is lose and looks broken. Do they go together?

I cant click on the 1300/ 20-300 and 1312/ 13-341 to find out where they go :?:

Vacuum of some sort.... EGR?

Yes thank you. My valves are slightly different though....

And I still don't know what that pipe by the aft dipstick does!

Is it like an inverted "J" at the top end, and goes nowhere?

If so, it's the transmission breather pipe.

Keep an eye on it, the attachment point which holds it up can let go, so it just dangles until you find it and ty-wrap it back in place.

It was just resting next to the ATF dipstick, shouldn't move from there. Ill just zip it up if I can locate the original holder.

just had a look at mine and the dangling pipe in picture 2 should go to the EGR, follow (to the left) the metal pipe on the inlet manifold under the black cover and there should be a valve there. :D

pic 2 the left arrow, this is a one way valve (green), it should connect to the large air pipe(black) at the rear of the head, the stub it connects to may have broken off and left a hole of about 4mm in the top wall of the pipe, this needs repairing as it controls the vac for the egr and cold start solenoids.
does it start very lumpy from cold, but ok when warm ?? .
the right arrow is the supply to the egr solenoids which comes from the cold start solenoids which are the 2 to the right of the picture, the pipework from them is also non standard #-o .
i would think someone has blanked off the egr system which isnt a bad thing, but it does look like a bad bodgey way of sorting the pipework.

No, it starts fine every time. I am assuming if the EGR was working then the bongo would be struggling.

Thanks for the info and thread. As soon as the weather picks up again i will have a sneaky look. The valve check looks damaged to me as well, does it need this or can i just put a new bit of pipe straight through?
