Not the biggest thing to start with, got to start somewhere.

Anyone got a solution for covering the studs for the rear seats? The original covers don't fit very well at all.

Waiting on two lcd voltmeters, will hook them bad boys up. Need a blank for under the cd player as well, or i will make something up.

Depends what you plan to do..? Do you plan converting the back for the camping? The bolts could secure units i suppose...!?

If yer good with plastic you could try using some spare trim to make a cover of some sorts??

OK, i did this on the glory hole using some spare donated seat back table... You get the idea!

I have an old cassette player where your temp gauge is.... ill be able to bodge something :D

Bought some speakers today, after a lot of messing about i thought the easiest and best solution was this,

Easy enough

Although i broke one of the small door pockets on the passenger side, the screw was very tight and i snapped the small trim whilst trying to undo it. Ill throw up a pic at some point, anyone know where i can get a spare or one that fits?

Image

Got fed up trying to make the original mounts and new mounts fit. So....

Image

Image

Used the connectors from the old speakers so i didn't have to butcher the Mazda wiring.

Image

Seems ok to me, didn't take that long. Couple of hours maybe, spent more time messing about trying to make the old pod fit with the new mounts, id still be out there if I had of done that!

Had a quick check around the Bongo whilst i was out there,

Image

Bleed pipe was lose so i out it back and chucked a cable tie around it to make it stay!

There was a small tiny bit of coolant on the end of the bung, i will keep an eye on it. I checked the levels and it was fine, i used a dry cable tie to see where the coolant came to then measured it next to the min/ max levels. It was just above max. When i pulled it out there was a layer of rust on the bottom of the header tank. Radiator going maybe?? Going to take it to bell hill for a service in near future and a coolant system health check. Ill ask then maybe.

Couple more pics,

Drivers side, seemed ok apart from one area.

Bit oily up there, what is this? Its top right of the original drivers side pic.

sorry for the long post, bit excited today! :) As i have two weeks off, had my appendix removed last Thursday. I plan on doing some bits and bobs! :)

You have been busy..! 8)

The door pull handle/"pocket" Try the Bongo Fury shop, or Bellhill may do them used..? Or here! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MAZDA-BONGO-2 ... 1c25a28085

"Oily top right" comes up from the inter-cooler.. (pipe 13-246.) http://lushprojects.com/bongopartsmk2/c ... mgno=.html

Though looking closely at your picture, i'm wondering if the oil/gunk is coming from elsewhere & covering that area?? Could be EGR gunk?? Do a search.. Loads on it!

Appendix removed last Thursday.!??  Fair play.. Ermm, get well soon?

I will investigate as soon as I get home, browsing le bongo forums on my phone isn't the quickest!

Could do with a pair. Drivers side has a crack as well.

Seen something about egr and steel covers.... never read more than that. Will have some reading material tonight! :)
Thanks.

Was keyhole surgery, only in hospital for just over 24hours. Hurts a bit, just got to be careful and not over so it. I'll be fine :)

£10 for a bit of plastic!! I am going to try make something first :D Ill check bell hill and fury shop first mind....

Ill have a fiddle around the oily part tomorrow, give it a clean and see if i can spot anything after a run around! Going to look for a curtain rail, the original one is looking rather flakey! Ill get one of those compression ones and put my own curtain up! Might replace the rear curtain as well :)

I am going to buy one of these as well, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 618wt_1396

Just need to think of a sensible place to put it, 2 flashes a second seems quite a lot too.

One of my gauges was duff, (One on the left.) so they sent a replacement.. They didn't want the duff one back, sooo i gutted it & i flashes for the alarm... I have a couple of other warning colour code led's in it too for other functions.. The one on the right is a volt meter..

Image

Turbo gauge here.

Image

The whole lot is on a rheostat & dims with the dash...
This will give you an idea. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3b10wzT6 ... -RUTqfozQ=

I since fitted the temp gauge & upgraded the rheostat/fader so its a little more smoother on the fade..

I've fitted widow closure with the alarm, mirror folding on locking, & auto blind roll up on opening the side door...

You can go too far with all this..... #-o

Decal i started to remove this morning before it started raining! Got about half way though, need to remove this paint as well.

That is how it was before i started by the way, i didn't decide to start painting the van with nail varnish!

Rang around swindon for caramel/ toffee wheels but no one knows what im on about!

The hair dryer and card technique is quite time consuming! I don't think its quite warm enough either, as soon as i heated it up it was cold again, this one is the worst of them all. Its the only one which is ripped, so hopefully i will be getting the worst of it out of the way!

Where did you get the gauges from?

Very nice mods sir, you have too much time :p

The gauges..? http://www.mcgillmotorsports.co.uk/inde ... ductId=762

They are on eBay too.. I've had them a couple of years..? Looks like the prices have gone up a fair bit. :(
From memory though, they were fast on the dispatch & they didn't quibble over the duff gauge i mentioned earlier when i rang up.. they tie in with the speedo dials & they work great! 8)

I got mine from the same place as jaylee, one for the main battery and the other for the leisure battery, the clock in the centre that was from Hong Kong.

22 sterling isn't too bad.
I know but i wanted one today, i will have to go down this route anyway! As I can't find one locally. One bloke I spoke to called them mule spinners, claimed it was a trade name.

Ill ebay one asap :D

Looks beautiful :) I am definitely going to look into investing in these bad boys. Although i had a royal mail missed delivery slip though the door today which will probably be the lcd voltmeters i ordered from Hong Kong a couple of weeks back!

Don't suppose it is.. Compared to some of the fancy gauges you can get from the States? :-k Thought i paid about 18 quid at the time for the turbo gauge, & 15 for the volt...? But add the postage...?!! Yeah, fair enough.. I would recommend the company. (at least at the time!)

For about £7 the Temp gauge is quite fancy too.. It automatically brightens in sunlight so you can get a clearer reading, then dims in the dark so's not to glare....

There are loads of past topics in this section regarding ideas & so forth... Sounds like you got the pimping bug.!

Hey Jaylee. I've been following your electrical pimps for a while now. Don't suppose you fancy hiring yourself out to other members (me!) to pimp ours??!
