What do they look like Geoff. Last time I saw Ady he was after the wheels off my Bongo. Could not someone local collect them from you and take them to Glencoe on the 21st April for a relay further south. :-k

In my opinion they are the best looking alloys I have come across!
The handling was good too - and tyres cheap. I just do not like the hassle of alloys I like no maintenance steelies .

The paint has peeled off but they should come up really well after a proper bead blasting .If they are free then this is worth doing - - - - -

Happy for anyone to arrange a relay

I'd be more than happy with them if they are still available.

Yes, they are too heavy to pay anyone to deliver. This is why I have advertised on the Scots section of the forum. I was going to sell them but had a huge garage clearout at the weekend so they had to go quickly to someone who is prepared to pay a wee bit to get them into good fettle.
They got a lot of very positive comments about how they looked when they were on the van. Handling was spot on when matched with standard size Vanco2's
I think that they must have used the wrong etch primer because the paint just flaked off them after a few Scottish winters!

Do I detect the beginnings of a movement?

I have never liked alloys. Only had them once, They leaked and stuck to the hubs. If a dealer had another vehicle with the same size wheels I would ask him to swap the alloys off my purchase for the steels off the other. Then he can put an 'Alloys' sticker across the windscreen of the other one.

I can just as easily look flash with alloy lookalike wheel trims and change them as fashions change. Can even have different styles on each side!

You make a good point Frank. I love my rare Precious 17" alloys as they really suit the Bongo. But I also have a set of 15" steels, and these look pretty good with some gunmetal grey wheel trims on them, and cheap tyres are easier to source. Still, a free set of alloys is not to be sniffed at. Polished and lacquered would be my temptation :-)

''Polished and lacquered would be my temptation''

Nice ,but they tend to be not very durable, especially on salted roads

Received my alloys at the Red Squirrel meet. Many thanks to Geoff for the alloys and to Matt and family for somehow finding room in the Bongo to take them up for me. =D> =D>

Just about completed, just the centre discs to finish off, fitted last night.

and with the new tyres they handle a lot better than the winter tyres on the original rims.
