Hello,
Radiator went a couple weeks back whilst the misses was driving, just fitted a replacement, drove it round the block and it started overheating and i've got a oily leak from this box just behind the radiator, any ideas?

Hi,
did you bleed the system?,is the vehicle an automatic.?If it is an automatic the oil could be leaking from the oil cooler at the bottom of the radiator (slack connector)
Make sure the vehicle is bled properly before you drive it.
Cheers.

well just looked at mine and can't see where it could be from but you could check the seals on the steering rack or the gearbox cooling pipes where they joint the bottom of the rad.

That's the intercooler.
Only air should be flowing through.
Some oil tends to find it's way into it over the years.
On a brand new vehicle no oil will be in there and certainly not enough to be leaking out.
Either your " oil leak " is something leaking from somewhere else ( eg, gearbox fluid from cooler integrated into bottom of rad, as mentioned ) and ending on the intercooler or you have more than a little oil in the intercooler which traces back to the turbo.
In the long run it's worth getting someone who knows Bongos to look at it, especially if it involves the radiator.

It looks like there's oil on the top side of the fan casing which would suggest its something quite high up, or squirting out under pressure. If it was fine before the rad change, then I would say its gearbox fluid from the heat exchanger at the bottom of the rad. If the fluid is red in colour than that's the most likely explanation. Have you checked the ATF level?
Alternatively, it could be coming from the intercooler but that would suggest a serious oil leak from the turbo or EGR system. Do you get a lot of blue smoke?
However, I think you need to tackle the overheating issue first. What method did you use to bleed it?
