Well from the first site that is your 2nd to 3rd shift solenoid valve of the automatic transmission, time to see a transmission specialist perhaps, maybe Alacrity on the Forum here can also make a suggestion as he is a such a specialist

You might be able to read it with a meter, but they tend to sample the readings and it can be difficult in some cases to tell between long and short pulses. An LED or low power bulb is best.

Thanks , if I put jumper wire on C and V pins would the code flash via the hold light ?
Also the hold light flashes one second on one second off ,when in safety mode .

The Pins C & V are connected for the ENGINE Diaganostics. With the LED between D and A pins, watch the polarity an LED will only light one way round.
After 1999 the Glowplug light on the dashboard also flashed the code sequence, only for diesels however!
The Pins M & V are connected for the TRANSMISSION Diagnostics. With the LED between F and A pins.
Also the HOLD light MAY flash but it depends on the year and model .....

apart from the code, what does the vehicle do when it drives?? as said before only 61 is a relevant code, so does it have problems changing from 2nd to 3rd? if so its just a solenoid pack (tho not cheap cheap, its lot less than gearbox rebuild)

Hi guys.
I am having a 'Hold light' problem which is similar to what is described here. I'm not able to change from 3rd to 4th, and the engine is running somewhat hot (up to 97 degrees yesterday), especially uphill. There is sufficient coolant in the radiator.
At the moment I am in Ilkley, and have tried phoning Adrian at Japan Direct, but no answer.
We are on holiday, but I am happy to travel to get this seen to.
Does anyone know of any Bongo repair places in Yorkshire, or for that matter Lancashire or Northumberland?
Cheers for now,
Leon
