? ? unconnected pipe underneath the drivers seat

Hi guys this isnt my first post but managed to wipe all log in details!

..i posted up some time ago about a over heatin problem, this turned out to be an air lock, so me n betta half have just bled it followin utube vid's! ...there had been some dripping fluid from under driver area but not same point everytime. anyway upon investigation, beneath drive seat below dipstick (what is is dipstick for btw please???) Is an pipe unconnected ?? What is this and should it be connected ?? ..i have photo' and will upload once i access photobucket again

there is a pipe there if its a diesel connects to block side from a stub and crosses the starter

this often is one of first to go bad

the dipstick for the auto box

The dipstick is where you check and fill your ATF.

If the pipe has a 'J' shaped end, then it's the breather for the transmission, and should be attached to the bodywork - just ty-wrap it to something high up.

Of course, if you don't have an automatic, ignore all of the above and replace it with "no idea mate, sorry" :)

21-5C7 is the breather hose

19-880 is the Dip stick for the auto box.

21-5C6 is the hose clip.

Guess without photo, but an unconnected water pipe and its coolant would be out on the floor unless its a left over pipe if the rear system is disconnected.

Could be your seeing the vent pipe which is a breather from the autobox, comes from top of box ussually hooked up near back of head and bends over and dangles down, if it has had head work or been dislodged might be hanging down.
