Hi all i have done many searches on this problem with my gearbox and before i go out and buy another box i would like to confirm this is the problem.
When i put my foot down it drops a gear and the revs increase without any increase in speed just like clutch slipping
I have replaced the oil hoping this was the prob but it is still the same
is it time for another gearbox

Hi,

That is sometimes quite normal, depends on the speed you are doing?and how hard you put your foot down, some people call it kick down.

Cheers

Hi,

If it is not dropping a gear, then it does sound like it could be a slipping clutch.

Try giving Alacrity a shout,he is an auto-box specialist and a very nice man.

I know it sounds funny, but those are the symptoms I got with a partially blocked fuel filter - a new filter brought it all back to normal 8) Certainly worth a few quid to try it

Don't forget to clean the little banjo filter as well. In fact, it might be worth trying that first, as it costs nothing 8)
