Bongo Fury

My horn has stopped working. I have checked the horn itself and the wiring to it but to no avail. I've also been through all the fuses under the steering wheel but none have blown. I assume there is a relay involved somewhere but have no idea where it is.
I don't want to mess with the steering wheel in case I upset the airbag. Can anyone point me in the direction of the relay please.

Have you pulled the wires off of the contacts on the horn cleaned and refitted them to ensure they are making a good contact ? when you push the horn can you hear any relay "CLICK" ? is the horn unit earthed via where its attached to the body if so does it have a good earth, you can run a direct + feed from the battery to the horn unit to see if its a horn or voltage issue.

The Horn relay can be fitted in several different positions depending on the prevailing wind it seems Its F3-03 on these diagrams (all years are the same);

as previously stated, get someone to press the horn while you have your head under the bonnet and listen for a click from the relay (behind the drivers side headlight, rear bank), if it clicks then the horn itself is suspect, if it doesnt then the steering wheel end is more likely, remove the airbag etc and make sure the contacts are clean, but if you have an airbag, main suspect will be the clockspring.

Dont be worried about the bongo's airbag/ABS (yes i know they're seperate!) system as it runs a self diagnostic every time the ignition is switched, so unlike most european cars where an airbag/ABS issues can only be dealt with by main dealer equipment, a bongo can have its bags/sensors unplugged and replugged and as long as its all working and present will recognise it and switch off the light.

Turns out it is the clockspring. That explains why the airbag warning light was flashing as well. Would have been a bit happier if it had been a fuse or bad connection.

weebrian, how did you fix that clock spring problem? Mine has just gone this week, and the MOT runs out in a couple of weeks!
