I got similar results when an auto electrician fitted my new GAR mph speedo without removing the chip that had been fitted for the kph speedo. This was immediately obvious, as the new speedo was reading under speed just like yours.

Could be a new face fitted on a already chipped original kph speedo?

just to clarify, are you saying at lower speed it reads over the recorded speed and at faster speeds under??

if its just a typo and your in fact reading higher or lower than recorded speed, your speedo needle may need repositioning.

i initially did this at home with dash binacle removed, carefully pop off the needle " i used to teaspoons to gently level, (mind you dont loose the counter balance wieghts, if the needle cap comes off),

with ingition on, lightly replace the needle on the pin (now this is where there may be some comments from others) i replaced it just below the stop pin on the gauge and gentle lifted over to the correct side of the pin.

with the binacle still off take it for a drive ( with a satnav for speed reference) over various speeds, i believe that most speedos read under the stated speed by a couple of mph to allow for errors.

if you are still getting under or over reading re position you needle again with the binicle off you can do it a layby best to try and get it to just under the recorded speed. mine reads about 2 mph over the actual speed better sfe that sorry
