I have always used jizer brushing on and stippling in with a brush. then rinsing off with a hose . Allso spray it on for larger areas.

Just remember to keep it away from any waxoiled areas. particularly if spraying as it will remove waxoil also.

It also dissolves tarmac very readily, so take care if it's parked in the road or a tarmaced driveway.

5 ltrs of brake and clutch cleaner a spray bottle and some cardboard to lay under the van, fill up the spray bottle with B & C Cleaner then starting at the top spray the engine and watch the muck n oil run off and evaporate
easy peasy lemon squeezy

or just leave it..dirty...its an engine
