Gearbox gasket

Noticed a damp patch under the Bongo yesterday and on investigation it seem to be a slight leak from the auto box sump.
It looks like someone has tightened three or four of the bolts too much and nearly stripped the threads so that they won't tighten properly.
My query is, can the gasket be reused or does it need a new one if removed? I'm planning to take it off and seal it well with Hylomar and see what happens. Failing that it looks like I will have to see if it's possible to drill and tap the holes bigger and put larger diameter bolts in the dodgy ones.
