fuel guage problems

Hi Everybody
has anyone had their fuel gauge indicating quarter full when its full up ,filled her right up this morning still the same .do they stick or is it the sender unit? help please.

Ah yes the standard fuel guage fault

Its a bad earth in the sender unit with several ways of fixing it
the faq section has some fixes for you to look at

When ours went wonky I scraped to bare metal round one of the holes in the tank rim, soldered a couple of eyes onto a wire, bolted through the hole in the tank rim and connected the other end to a bolt on the chassis near the under the driver's seat.
Sprayed the whole lot with waxoyl, works a treat and took about 10 minutes.
