Good brake pad recommendations ....

Hi all,
The little red brake warning light keeps poping up on me dashboard. I assume this means the pads are getting down and so time to look at changing them.
Can any recommend what is a good make and possibly more importantly what to avoid...
...nice time of year to be out changing brake pads.......
Thanks in advance
Regards
Terry

dont fit the cheaper unbranded ones you will be fighting brake dust forever more.
ebc are good, they are on the net, gen mazda ones are also good but a little expensive.

I bought mine from Mazda, I prefer not to cut costs on brakes. Pads (front) are £52.95 + vat retail (part no. ML0Z13328ZB) for my '98 2.5 tdi 4x4.

The (!) Brake light is for the Handbrake on .. low brake fluid and low vacuum (on diesels only)..
BUT .. I personally don't know if it also acts as a 'pad wear' indicator as well.

no it doesnt, well not on the earlier ones. just the fluid level like you rightly said earlier

edit
looked at this again and i suppose it does

, as the pads wear the level drops so triggers the low fluid float in the res the pads may need replacing or at least checking.
